" Deborah Collins "
Deborah was born in McKenzie,Alabama
and moved to Charleston in 1962 with her parents and 2 brothers.
Got married in 1970 to a gentleman who had 4 children and
they had 4 children (1 son, 3 daughters - including a set of twins).
Following the death of her husband, she remarried to a gentleman who
also had 2 children
from a previous marriage and now they have 14 grandchildren.
Her new husband has made guest appearance's with the Charleston Stars.
Deborah is a social studies and world history teacher for 5th &
6th graders.
She started a chorus for 4th, 5th, & 6th graders who perform
at various different events throughout
the school year. These children have an extensive outreach to
the elderly people in the community.
Along with a co-director and herself they have now extended their chorus
to 2nd & 3rd graders who
perform 4 times a year.
Deborah's hobbies include Singing, playing piano, dancing, swimming,
and bowling.
She's the music director for her church.
The other professional side of Deborah is that she has performed with
the
" Sweet Adelines " for the past 23 years. Has directed 2 shows
and a member of the
Sweet Adelines Music Education Faculty, Region 23 for the past 8 years.
She has been performing with Lee's Charleston Stars for the past 4 years
and is a major
help to the other stars with their music coordination.
